We present mainstage productions on campus in the Pavilion Theatre, a flexible 300-seat arena/thrust theatre, The Playhouse, a 450-seat proscenium theatre and in downtown State College at the 150-seat, Penn State Downtown Theatre Center. Our theatres feature air-conditioning, advanced lighting and sound-control systems, rehearsal studios, and dressing rooms. A fifty-seat laboratory serves primarily for the development of student projects. Our production facility includes a dedicated lighting design lab and modern computer aided drafting (CAD) laboratory.
We have several intimate performance theatres at Penn State including the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center, the Pavillion Theatre and the Playhouse Theatre.
Production studios used for undergraduate and graduate student classrooms include our costume and scene shops and our light lab.
Penn State campus also houses two larger performance theatres, Eisenhow Auditorium and Schwab Auditorium.
The School of Theatre has several multipurpose spaces used for classes, rehearsal and performance.
